A man has shared his emotional story online after claiming that a woman he cared for during pregnancy later disappeared with his money and valuables shortly after giving birth.
Man recounts supporting pregnant woman he planned to marry
According to the man, he met the woman when she was three months pregnant and she told him the child’s biological father had abandoned her.
He explained that despite his modest income as a block mould worker, he decided to stand by her and encouraged her not to terminate the pregnancy.
The man said he regularly checked on her welfare, bought food and provided support throughout the pregnancy because he genuinely intended to build a future with her.
“She told me the man responsible denied the pregnancy and she wanted to terminate it, but I begged her to keep the baby. Even with my work, I kept taking care of her and making sure she was okay,” he said.
“Later she said her sister needed a place to stay and I agreed. When she was eight months pregnant, I even travelled to her village in Ebonyi State with my family to meet her parents because I wanted to marry her,” he added.
Relationship ended after childbirth
The man further claimed that after she gave birth, he paid hospital bills and helped her establish a POS business to support the family financially.
However, he said problems began after she reported losing ₦140,000 and later claimed another phone he bought for her had been stolen.
“When I finally reached her after she disappeared with money from the POS business and other belongings, she told me she never loved me and had only been pretending,” he narrated.
The story has triggered widespread reactions online, with many social media users debating trust, sacrifice and relationships.
