Sokoto Governor Makes Fresh Appointments

Sokoto Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has approved the appointment of six Special Advisers, three Senior Special Assistants, four Permanent Secretaries and an Acting Permanent Secretary.

Naijaonpoint learnt that the appointments were announced in a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa.

Bawa said Governor Aliyu directed that all the appointments will take immediate effect.

According to the statement, the newly appointed Special Advisers are Garba Muhammad S/Birni, Mukhtari Bello Abdurrahman, Shi’itu M. Bello, Alhaji Tukur Sanyinna, Alhaji Abdullahi Jabo and Mamman Aliyu Salisu.

While the governor also appointed Jummai Bello Kware, Nana Mamman Nasarawa and Hon. Emmanuel Ekereke as Senior Special Assistant, Buhari Umar, Abdullahi B. Muhammad, Musa Muhammad and Jibril Sa’adu were appointed as Permanent Secretaries, while Aliyu Magaji was named Acting Permanent Secretary.

In other news, three Nigerian soldiers killed in an improvised explosive device explosion during a security operation in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State have been laid to rest.

The soldiers died on Saturday after an IED suspected to have been planted by bandits exploded beneath their vehicle in Bargaja community.

Sources who spoke with Daily Trust said the troops were responding to a distress call from residents following an attack by bandits when the device detonated.

The incident has thrown families, colleagues and residents of the affected communities into mourning.

The Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Idris Muhammad Gobir, represented Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the funeral prayer held at Giginya Barracks, Sokoto.
