According to a report by Evening Standard on Saturday July 11, 2026, Real Madrid have been dealt a significant injury concern after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was forced off during Belgium’s 2-1 defeat to Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarter-final.
The experienced shot-stopper appeared to suffer a thigh injury midway through the second half at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Courtois went down clutching his left thigh and received medical treatment before attempting to continue. However, he was unable to play on and was eventually substituted by Belgium manager Rudi Garcia.
