The Children Are Out of School — Late Mr Ibu’s Family Cries Out for Support [VIDEO]

The family of the late Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has appealed for financial assistance, saying they are facing hardship following his passing.

According to the widow of the late actor, the family has been living without basic amenities such as electricity and running water. She also disclosed that her three young children are no longer in school.

In a viral video interview with social media influencer King Mitchy, the late actor’s widow, Stella Marris, revealed that they have been forced to live without basic amenities and cannot afford their regular upkeep.

Stella Marris explained that she has been unable to pay their house rent, which has worsened their living situation and cut off their access to clean running water.

“We fetch water from the well, because I haven’t been able to pay the house rent. They’ve even cut off my light for two months now. We have been like that since. Every night we go to look for where to charge our phones. It’s not easy.”

According to the family, their 14-year-old daughter and two sons, aged 12 and 10, are no longer attending school because they cannot afford the fees. As such, Mr Ibu’s daughter, alongside her mother, expressed gratitude for her mother’s efforts to care for the family despite the challenges. She also appealed to actors, filmmakers, and others who worked closely with her late father to come to their aid.

“I want to thank God for my mum, she tries everything she can to feed us, pay our school fees. If you’re in the industry with my dad, you see us now, please come and help us.”
