A woman has sparked reactions on social media after opening up about the collapse of her marriage, alleging that her ex-husband eventually married her best friend.
In a viral video, the woman dismissed claims that she simply walked away from her marriage without any reason.
“It does not even make sense for someone to just say she packed and left just like that,” she said, urging people not to jump to conclusions about her separation.
The woman said she had decided to leave everything in God’s hands after going through what she described as pain, mistreatment and disappointment.
“After all that, after the mistreating, pain and everything, the husband ended up marrying your own best friend. What does that mean?” she asked.
According to her, the development left her feeling betrayed by the two people she trusted the most.
“Me and my husband are no more, and the two people you trusted ended up betraying you. They really disappointed me,” she said.
She also explained why she had remained largely silent about the situation, saying her upbringing does not encourage publicly exposing private family matters.
“I’m not that kind of person that will just come and say my own side of the story. In our culture, they don’t train us like that. We can’t just come and be exposing someone,” she stated.
The woman further addressed rumours circulating online that she was suffering from an infection, saying she knew nothing about the allegations.
Reflecting on the end of her marriage, she said both parties had their reasons for moving on and insisted that her former husband’s decision to marry her friend was his choice.
“There’s a different reason for me to leave and for his own different reason to marry my friend. So it’s not a big deal. That’s what he decided to do,” she said.
Despite the painful experience, the woman said she has chosen to focus on her happiness and future.
“I choose my peace and happiness over everything, and thank God I’m living my own better life,” she said.
She concluded by expressing hope of finding love again in the future, adding, “I pray that next time, if I marry again, I will marry right by the grace of Almighty Allah.”
