A suspected thief has reportedly been forced to carry a log of wood around a village throughout the night after he was allegedly caught stealing.
According to reports, the man was apprehended while attempting to steal the wood. Instead of allowing him to leave with the items, residents allegedly made him carry the log on his head as they moved around the community.
A video circulating online shows the man walking with the wood balanced on his head while several people follow him. The incident is said to have continued until morning.
The unusual punishment has attracted reactions online, with some people joking that the experience may discourage him from stealing again.
However, others have raised concerns about the practice of subjecting suspected criminals to public humiliation and punishment outside the formal justice system.
