The Volta North Regional Police Command has arrested three former students of Hohoe E.P. Senior High School in connection with the alleged destruction of school property captured in a viral video.
According to an official police statement cited in a press release, the incident occurred shortly after the suspects and others had completed their final examinations and left campus.
School authorities reported the matter to the police on Friday, June 19, 2026, after a group of about five recently graduated students allegedly returned to the school premises and unlawfully damaged a water pipeline belonging to the institution.
Following investigations and intelligence-led surveillance, police apprehended three suspects identified as 19-year-old Rashid Suraj Dakpo, 20-year-old Alhassan Mohammed, and 20-year-old Abdul Kadri Abdulai.
The arrested individuals have since been transferred to the Regional CID for further investigation and possible prosecution, while efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest the remaining suspects linked to the incident.
The Regional Police Command condemned the act, warning that vandalism and destruction of public property will be dealt with strictly under the law. Authorities also urged parents and guardians to counsel young people against misconduct, especially acts that damage educational institutions.
The incident has sparked renewed conversations about student discipline and post-exam misconduct in senior high schools across the region.
