Tinubu Likely To Meet With Trump – Nigeria’s Ambassador To U.S, Kayode Are

The Nigerian Ambassador to the United States (U.S), Kayode Are, has hinted that President Bola Tinubu will undertake an official visit to Washington before the end of his ambassadorial tenure.

Naijaonpoint reports that Are made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s programme, ‘Inside Sources’ hosted by Laolu Akande.

Are explained that Tinubu’s visit to the US would be determined by his contingency plan and itinerary.

The Nigerian Ambassador to the US also stated that Tinubu may meet President Donald Trump.

He said, “The relation between the two I’m sure we will be able to get that done one way or the other and of course the itineray of a President determines where he goes and where he can’t go.

“But that is part of the process of what the US-Nigeria engagement will hope to achieve, right now there is a good level of contact and engagement, top to bottom, even if you have not seen them together physically but there is a good level of engagement that is going on.

“So I would hope that during my tenure that a presidential visit would be possible and it would give me the greatest joy to receive my President and I know many Nigerians would be happy but that depends on contingencies.”
