Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have neutralised 16 terrorists and recovered assorted weapons during coordinated operations in Adamawa State.

The operations were conducted between September 30 and October 1, 2026, across Sector 4 of the OPHK area of operations.

The ground operation took place in the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area, where troops carried out an ambush on a suspected terrorist enclave.

According to a security update, the operation resulted in the neutralisation of 16 terrorists and the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun and six AK-47 magazines.

Troops also recovered a quantity of pump-action ammunition during the operation.

The ground operation was supported by the Air Component of OPHK, which conducted a precision air strike on October 1.

The military said an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform detected about 16 terrorists and 15 motorcycles concealed under a tree canopy in Sector 4 at about 4:40 a.m.

Following target identification and acquisition, an air strike was conducted at about 5:30 a.m., with the military reporting a direct hit on the identified target.

A subsequent battle damage assessment confirmed the destruction of the target, while a small number of surviving terrorists were seen fleeing the area.

The operations were part of coordinated efforts by troops to disrupt terrorist movements and degrade their operational capabilities in the sector.
