US President Donald Trump publicly praised rapper Nicki Minaj during a luncheon held at the White House Rose Garden on Monday.
Trump described the Grammy-nominated artist as “so hot,” commending her talent and character.
Speaking during the event, the president singled out the 43-year-old rapper, referring to her as a close friend and someone widely admired.
He said the country also had a woman who was so respected, so hot and so great, describing her as a great friend, not necessarily of conservatism but of what he termed common sense, before briefly shifting his remarks to touch on Democratic Socialists and communism.
Returning to Minaj, he described her as a fantastic person, respected by everybody and possessing real talent, before asking her to stand up, reiterating that she was a great person respected by all, according to an online news platform.
Following the event, Minaj shared highlights of her White House visit on social media, using the hashtag #WhiteHouseBarbie.
The rapper posted a video from the Rose Garden while dressed in Versace, captioning it with the hashtags #WhiteHouseBarbie and #VersaceTingz.
She also shared photographs of herself posing beside a portrait of Trump inside the White House, along with another showing the pair together at the President’s desk in the Oval Office.
