Trump reveals details of secret mission, claims US moved 100 million barrels of oil through Hormuz; says Iran was not…

United States President Donald Trump has claimed that the US carried out a secret military operation in the Strait of Hormuz, helping transport more than 100 million barrels of oil despite Iran’s blockade of the crucial route.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil transit points. Nearly 20% of global oil supply passes through this narrow stretch, making it a key chokepoint in the ongoing conflict.

How did the US move oil despite the blockade?

Trump revealed on Truth Social that he had ordered the US military to launch a “secret mission” to escort oil tankers and commercial ships through the strait. According to him, over 200 ships have safely crossed, ensuring oil reached global markets. He claimed that the US now effectively “controls” the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said the operation involved stealth movements, with ships travelling at night without lights. He also alleged that Iran failed to detect these operations due to a lack of radar capability.

What did Trump say about Iran’s response?

Trump claimed that Iran was completely unaware of the operation until now. He further alleged that US forces intercepted ships carrying millions of barrels of oil from Iran. In a striking statement, he said that 22 ships were taken out in a single night during one such operation.

He also claimed that these efforts helped stabilise global oil prices, keeping them below $90 per barrel and preventing a possible surge to $200.

What is happening in the US-Iran war now?

The claims come as tensions between the US and Iran continue to escalate. The US recently carried out fresh “self-defence strikes” on multiple Iranian targets for the second consecutive day. Explosions were reported in several regions, including Tehran and Bandar Abbas.

In response, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard launched retaliatory strikes targeting 18 installations linked to US forces. The escalation reportedly follows the downing of a US Apache helicopter in the Gulf.
