The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the death of two intending pilgrims who lost their lives in a tragic road accident along the Rimin Gado–Kano City road.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Sulaiman A. Dederi.
The deceased, Alkasim Ibrahim Walawa, 48, and his mother, Hadiza Garba, 73, were said to have been on a journey in preparation for pilgrimage to the Holy Land when the fatal incident occurred.

Alkasim is survived by two wives and seven children, while his mother, Hadiza Garba, is survived by five children. Both victims were indigenes of Walawa Village in Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.
Their deaths were described as particularly painful, given that they were embarking on a spiritual journey at the time of the accident.
SolaceBase reports that a joint condolence message, the board and its management expressed deep sorrow over the incident and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased.
“We pray to Almighty Allah to forgive their shortcomings and grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus,” the statement read.
The board also extended its condolences to the bereaved family, urging them to find strength and patience in this difficult time.
