Two People Are Dead And Part Of My Church Has Collapsed, I Need Help — Kumchacha Cries Over Flood Crises

Ghanaian preacher Prophet Kumchacha has issued a distress appeal via social media, claiming that floodwaters have broken through the walls of his church and that his East Legon residence has been inundated, leaving him and his family stranded.

In a video posted to TikTok, Kumchacha said the flooding around his church had reportedly resulted in two deaths, though this claim had not been independently verified by emergency services, the police, or NADMO as of press time.

According to Kumchacha, the floodwater at his location had risen to waist level, severely limiting movement in and around his home and church premises. He described the situation as urgent and called for assistance.

He also noted that part of his church has collapsed following the severity of the flood waters.

The preacher’s appeal adds to the mounting toll of this week’s flooding disaster, which has affected numerous parts of Accra including Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Achimota Mile 7, the Spintex to Polo Grounds corridor, and the University of Ghana’s Mensah Sarbah Hall.
