President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to receive the All Progressives Congress (APC) certificate of return and the party’s flag as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election on Sunday.

According to a statement released by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the presentation ceremony will hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre following the conclusion of the nationwide collation of results from the party’s presidential primary election.

The certificate of return serves as the party’s official confirmation of its chosen candidate ahead of the next presidential election. The event is expected to formally mark the beginning of APC’s preparations and political activities ahead of the 2027 polls.

Onanuga stated that President Tinubu would receive both the certificate and the APC flag as the party’s standard bearer. The announcement was made through a post shared on X on Saturday.

A large gathering of party leaders and government officials is expected at the ceremony.

Those expected to attend include APC governors from across the country, members of the party’s National Executive Committee and National Working Committee, lawmakers from the National Assembly, senior party officials, political associates, and supporters.

The event is also expected to provide an opportunity for party leaders to restate their support for Tinubu and discuss strategies ahead of the next election cycle. Political observers believe the ceremony could signal the start of broader consultations and mobilisation efforts within the ruling party.

The presentation in Abuja comes as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties expected to strengthen internal structures and engage supporters across the country in the coming months.
