MAKURDI— The management of Seat of Wisdom Secondary School in Aliade, Benue State, has expelled 11 students following a viral video that showed a female student being stripped and assaulted by her peers on school grounds .
The expulsion, effective March 23, 2026, followed a disciplinary committee investigation that found the students nine girls and two boys guilty of fighting and unlawfully posting the incident on social media. The school cited “gross violation of the school’s code of conduct and its zero-tolerance policy for bullying and violence in its dismissal letters .

According to school sources, the altercation did not occur within the main school compound but in a nearby bush behind the premises during extension classes for JSS3 and SS3 students . The crisis began when two female students agreed to settle a personal dispute away from teachers’ supervision.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has directed its Benue State Command to collaborate with relevant agencies to investigate the matter. The agency described the incident as a sad development.
School authorities acted swiftly, suspending extension classes and placing some students on suspension even before the video went viral . Following a thorough review by the disciplinary committee, each student received individual expulsion letters signed by the principal .
