While the agreement has been hailed as a breakthrough, details remain scarce.
According to a senior US official, the framework has already been electronically signed by US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
The text has not been released publicly, and negotiators reportedly faced sharp disagreements over Iran’s nuclear programme, sanctions relief and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Vance described the document as “about a page and a half,” suggesting it serves as a broad framework rather than a detailed settlement.
Even so, the planned signing at Burgenstock is being viewed as a significant step towards ending one of the most dangerous regional confrontations in recent years.
