Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has launched a fresh empowerment programme targeting thousands of beneficiaries across Sokoto East Senatorial District, extending a series of similar interventions previously executed in other parts of the state.
The initiative involved the distribution of 200 motorcycles, 400 sewing machines, and over 4,000 assorted food items to selected beneficiaries drawn from eight local government areas. Stakeholders included All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmen, local government officials, youth and women leaders, traditional rulers, and media representatives.
The distribution ceremony, held in Gwadabawa, attracted party stakeholders and political figures from across the zone. Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North, was represented by APC State Financial Secretary, Nasiru Italy, alongside Special Advisers and other aides.
“This intervention is aimed at supporting livelihoods and strengthening grassroots structures,” a party official stated at the event.
The programme reinforces Wamakko’s ongoing community-focused engagements, following similar distributions earlier conducted in Sokoto North and Sokoto South Senatorial Districts.
