“We Need To Wipe Both NPP And NDC Away” — Captain Smart’s Old Comments Resurface Amid Political Ambitions

An old video of media personality Captain Smart has resurfaced on social media, sparking discussions after he was heard making strong comments about Ghana’s two major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In the video, Captain Smart, who is reportedly seeking to contest the Gomoa West parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC, is heard saying: “We need to wipe both the NPP and NDC away. If we fail to wipe them both, we will never succeed. I’ve come to understand that the NPP and NDC are a useless grouping.”

The comments, which were made during his Onua Maakye programme on Onua TV, have triggered mixed reactions among political observers and social media users, particularly because of his current association with the NDC.

Some critics have questioned how his previous criticisms of both parties align with his reported decision to seek political office under one of the same parties he once condemned.

Others argue that politicians and public figures can change their views over time based on new experiences and circumstances.

Captain Smart has been known for his outspoken commentary on national issues, frequently criticising political leaders and calling for reforms in Ghana’s governance system.

The resurfaced video comes at a time when preparations for Ghana’s next political contests are gradually gaining momentum, with various individuals expressing interest in representing political parties in Parliament.

Captain Smart’s political future and possible parliamentary bid continue to attract attention as discussions grow over his transition from media activism into partisan politics.
