Residents of a remote Indian village have reportedly took matters into their own hands after growing tired of persistent poor 5G network coverage in their area, resorting to tying a telecom company employee to a network tower until improvements were made.
According to the account circulating alongside a video at our disposal, the community had repeatedly raised complaints about weak connectivity, eventually prompting the telecom company to dispatch an employee to assess and address the issue on-site.
Instead of simply cooperating with the technical visit, however, the frustrated residents seized the opportunity to make their grievances impossible to ignore.
Footage from the scene shows the man restrained against a metal pole, visibly caught off guard by the situation, as a crowd gathers around him.
Villagers reportedly made clear that he would not be released until meaningful progress was made on fixing the network problems plaguing their community.
Poor network connectivity in remote and rural areas remains a persistent complaint across many parts of India, with residents often citing missed opportunities, communication breakdowns, and disruptions to daily life and business as a result of unreliable service.
While drastic, netizens have thrown their support to the residents and endorsed their actions, tagging it a right and appropriate way.
