Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has claimed that the United States and Iran have reached a peace agreement amid ongoing tensions in West Asia. According to Sharif, both sides agreed to the deal after extensive negotiations and decided to immediately and permanently end military operations on all fronts, including those linked to Lebanon.
Official signing scheduled in Switzerland
Sharif said the agreement will be formally signed in Switzerland on June 19. He added that several meetings are expected to take place before the signing ceremony to address technical details and implementation-related issues.
The Pakistani Prime Minister described the agreement as a significant diplomatic breakthrough and expressed hope that it would contribute to long-term stability in the region.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye credited for mediation
Sharif thanked several countries for their role in facilitating the negotiations. He said Qatar played a key part in mediating between the parties and helping move the talks forward.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, stating that the support and diplomatic efforts of their leadership helped make the agreement possible.
Trump announces completion of agreement
US President Donald Trump also announced that an agreement with Iran had been finalised. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote that the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran was complete and congratulated all those involved in reaching the agreement.
The announcement comes after months of tensions and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing conflict and creating a framework for future negotiations.
US naval blockade in Strait of Hormuz to be lifted
Trump further announced that the US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz would be removed with immediate effect. He said ships from around the world would be allowed to pass through the crucial maritime route without any charges.

In his message, Trump stated, ‘World’s ships, start your engines. Let the oil flow.’
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important energy corridors and the decision is expected to ease concerns in global oil markets and support the smooth flow of energy supplies.
