That run finally came to an end on Wednesday in Dubai after Daniel was arrested after a prolonged international manhunt.

Daniel Kinahan (48), often referred to as the leader of the Kinahan cartel, was arrested this week in a joint operation launched by Irish and United Arab Emirates authorities. Dubai Police verified his arrest, describing him as “an Irish fugitive” associated with organised crime, without directly naming him. The individual was later identified as Daniel Kinahan by the Irish media.
Daniel was previously named in the Dublin High Court as the head of a drug cartel. Law enforcement agencies such as the DEA and Europol have verified him as a leader of a big drug syndicate. He was reportedly accused of controlling up to a third of Europe’s cocaine trade.

What did Ireland Police Force say on Kinahan’s arrest?
According to Ireland’s police force, the Garda Siochana, a man in his 40s had been taken into custody under a court warrant. “An Garda Siochana has been steadfast in our determination that we would pursue those allegedly involved in serious Organised Criminal activity, wherever they go,” the force was quoted as saying.

Daniel Kinahan is likely to face charges in Ireland linked to a long-standing feud between the Kinahan cartel and the Hutch gang. The conflict between the two gangs has led to 18 killings since 2015, reports stated.

The United States government imposed sanctions on the 48-year-old wanted gang leader in April 2022 after he and his family members were identified as leaders of the Kinahan organized crime cartel. Subsequently, a reward of $5 million was offered for information leading to his conviction or arrest.
