The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims suggesting that he will likely be contesting in opposition to President Bola Tinubu within the 2027 normal elections.

He described Fubara as his “son,” insisting that he harboured no private battle with the governor.
“That one isn’t a battle. He (Fubara) is my boy, he’s my son, why will I combat with him? I’m solely preventing in opposition to individuals who need to steal what they didn’t work for.
“Now, they’re ashamed as a result of they’re being defeated. They’re those pushing Fubara,” Wike stated.
