Nigerian skitmaker and actor Mr Macaroni has opened up about the threats he allegedly received over his criticism of the government, saying the situation became so serious that his family no longer felt safe.
The comedian said he eventually stopped speaking publicly about the government because of the threats, adding that his mother would call him in tears over suspicious movements around their family home.
According to Mr Macaroni, the situation became severe enough for people around him to consider arranging for him to leave the country for his safety.
He said in part …
“I stopped talking about the government because I was receiving so many threats, and my family wasn’t safe. My mom would call me crying that there are strange movements around the house. It was so bad they wanted to fly me out, but I said, ‘No, I’m staying.’”
Mr Macaroni said he nevertheless chose to remain in the country despite the concerns over his safety.
