The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has mentioned the latest wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has vindicated his earlier help for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on the flag-off of the principle carriageways on the Outer Southern Expressway in Abuja on Wednesday, October 15, Wike mentioned those that as soon as accused him of betraying the PDP had been now becoming a member of the ruling occasion.
“I have been watching on daily television and social media, people who said I want to destabilise the party, I am working for the APC. All of them are now in the APC.
“So, which means if it is true, they should commend me for working for where they are heading. So, I should be commended for doing a good job for them,” he mentioned.
His feedback adopted the latest defections of Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, and Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, who each joined the APC inside two days.

Diri’s exit, together with 19 Bayelsa lawmakers, additional decreased the PDP’s management to eight states nationwide.
Wike attributed the rising variety of defections to what he described as President Tinubu’s “decisive and visionary leadership,” which, in line with him, has strengthened the nation’s economic system and improved fiscal circumstances throughout states.

Wike described the governors’ choices to help Tinubu as “worthwhile,” saying Nigeria now wants leaders who can take daring and purposeful choices for the nation’s progress.
