Woltemade makes Juventus Europa League squad within 24 hours of joining club

Juventus have included deadline-day signing Nick Woltemade in their squad for the 2026-27 Europa League campaign, less than 24 hours after completing his move to the Italian club.

The German forward is one of several summer arrivals named in Juventus’ UEFA squad, with the club submitting their list before Wednesday’s deadline for teams competing in this season’s competition.

Woltemade completed his transfer from Newcastle United on Tuesday, shortly before the close of the summer transfer window.

His immediate inclusion means he will be available to Juventus for the league phase of their European campaign.

Yildiz included on List B

One of the notable details in Juventus’ submission is the inclusion of attacking star Kenan Yildiz on List B rather than the senior List A.

UEFA rules allow clubs to register a maximum of 25 players on List A, with at least two goalkeepers and eight locally trained players required.

List B is unlimited and is generally reserved for younger players who meet UEFA’s eligibility requirements. Players must have been born on or after January 1, 2005, and have spent at least two uninterrupted years with the club.

Yildiz qualifies for List B because of his age and lengthy association with Juventus. The Turkey international has spent the past four years at the club despite already establishing himself as a key first-team player.

Summer signing Jeff Ekhator, who is currently injured, was left out of both lists.

Juventus name strong European squad

Juventus have otherwise included all of their other major summer arrivals in the Europa League squad.

Goalkeepers Guglielmo Vicario and Kamil Grabara are joined by defenders Jhon Lucumi and Zeki Celik, while Pape Matar Sarr strengthens the midfield.

Randal Kolo Muani, Kerim Alajbegovic and Woltemade are among the attacking additions included.

Players returning from loan spells have also been registered, with Nico Gonzalez and Douglas Luiz both making the squad after spending last season away from Turin.
