Senator Abdul-Aziz Abubakar Yari, representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has called on Nigerians to unite against insecurity and resist attempts by criminal elements to divide the country along ethnic, religious, or regional lines.
Reacting to recent violent attacks across parts of the country, Yari expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and extended his condolences to affected families and communities.
“The pain of one Nigerian is the pain of all Nigerians,” the former Zamfara State governor said in a statement issued on Sunday.
He strongly condemned acts of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminality, describing them as deliberate attempts by enemies of the nation to instill fear and weaken national cohesion.
According to him, Nigerians must rise above differences and embrace unity in the face of growing security challenges.
Yari stressed that security should not be left solely to government and security agencies, urging citizens to support law enforcement through vigilance, intelligence sharing, and community cooperation.
He further appealed to traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, women organizations, and civil society groups to promote peace and strengthen social harmony.
Expressing confidence in Nigeria’s resilience, the senator urged citizens not to succumb to despair, insisting that collective resolve and national unity remain the country’s strongest weapons against insecurity.
