You made ADC party of choice for well-meaning Nigerians – Reps aspirant hails Mark-led NWC

An aspirant for the Nkanu East/Nkanu West Federal Constituency, Ernest Anene Onwa, has hailed the National Working Committee, NWC, of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, led by David Mark, for their courage which he said has made the party the preferred choice of well-meaning Nigerians.

Onwa, in a statement on Friday, also congratulated members of the newly elected executive committee of the ADC in Enugu State.

Onwa, who hails from Ozalla in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, commended National Chairman of the ADC, former Senate President David Mark, “for leading the party through a successful convention”.

“I congratulate Professor Austin Akubue and Mr. Chukwujekwu Nebo, the newly elected Chairman and Secretary of our party in the (Enugu) state, as well as all other elected State Executive Committee members.

“I believe Prof. Akubue and his team will lead the party to victory in the 2027 elections in the state,” Onwa said in the statement.

Despite the controversy surrounding the party’s recent congresses and national convention, Onwa hailed the leaders of the party at the state and national level for going ahead to “successfully” conduct the exercises according to schedule.

The statement added, “I would like to congratulate the leaders of our party in the state Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, Professor Barth Nnaji, Dr. John Nwokeabia, and others for their leadership, steadfastness, and guidance, which resulted in the successful conduct of the ward, LGA, and state congresses.

“I cannot conclude this statement without paying tribute to the National Chairman of our great party, Senator David Mark, and the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, as well as the entire National Working Committee.

“Their courage and perseverance have made our party the preferred choice of every well-meaning Nigerian who desires change from the poor leadership bedevilling the country.”

DAILY POST reports that the ADC conducted ward and local government congresses across the country on April 9, 2026. The state congress followed on April 11, 2026, during which Prof. Austin Akubue was elected as the Enugu State Chairman.

The party then held its maiden National Convention under the leadership of David Mark on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The leadership of the party under David Mark was ratified at the convention, while factional leaders, Nafiu Bala and a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, where expelled.
