Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has sparked debate with his latest comments on infidelity, asserting that a woman cheating on her partner carries far greater consequences for a relationship than a man doing the same.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Edochie argued that unlike men, women who cheat have typically already disconnected emotionally from their relationships.
He maintained that men should never forgive a cheating partner, describing any man who does so as weak, and suggesting that by the time a woman strays, she has already mentally and emotionally moved on.
The actor offered his view that women are naturally devoted and willing to go to great lengths for a partner they genuinely love.
However, he argued that many men make the mistake of committing to women who are not truly in love with them, which he believes is the root cause of infidelity in many relationships with such women effectively reserving their affections for someone else.
To illustrate his point, Edochie referenced a recent controversy involving an alleged affair between a married woman and a younger man, noting that the woman appeared more protective of her lover than her husband.
He used this as an example of how deeply a woman can become emotionally invested in someone outside her marriage, to the point of mocking her spouse.
He urged men to set firm boundaries and avoid being overly submissive, arguing that weakness does not attract genuine love from women.
His advice was for men to be discerning in choosing partners focusing on finding a woman who truly loves them rather than settling for someone whose affections lie elsewhere.
