Nigerians living abroad can now renew their passports remotely without visiting a Nigerian embassy or consulate, provided they meet the eligibility requirements for the Nigeria Immigration Service’s Contactless Passport Application System.

 


The initiative allows eligible applicants to complete key stages of the renewal process online, including submitting applications, providing biometric information and tracking their passport applications.

 

1. No Embassy Visit Required

 

 

Eligible Nigerians can renew their passports without physically visiting a Nigerian embassy or consulate.

 

2. Applications Are Submitted Online

 

The process starts on the official Nigeria Immigration Service passport platform.

 

3. Applicants Must Choose The Contactless Option

 

 

Nigerians who meet the requirements can select the contactless service during the application process.

 

 

4. Biometrics Can Be Submitted Electronically

 

 

Eligible applicants can submit their biometric information remotely for review.

 

 

5.Applications Can Be Tracked

 

Applicants can monitor the progress of their passport renewal through the NIS tracking platform.

 

6.Eligibility Requirements Apply
