Amarachineke Kingsley Ezechukwu, popularly known as Caesar, has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Aninri, Awgu, Oji River Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration event drew the presence of key stakeholders and community figures, including Engineer MacGinger Ibeneme, Hon. Obiora, Hon. Chima, as well as youth leaders and representatives from various communities such as Ndi Oboagwu Umuene, Ndi Umuike, and Agu Nonso.

Speaking during a private interview, Caesar confirmed his candidacy under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that his decision to run was driven by dissatisfaction with the performance of the current representative.

“Today, I am declaring my intentions as an ADC member, running for the House of Representatives for Awgu, Oji River, and Aninri. The previous representation lacked impact; people did not feel the relevance of that office. That failure inspired me to step forward and demonstrate what true representation should be,” he said.

Caesar outlined his key focus areas to include rural development, improved road infrastructure;particularly for farming communities; security, and youth empowerment.

“We must prioritize rural development and construct accessible roads for our farmers. Insecurity is another critical issue, and addressing youth challenges is central to solving it,” he added.

Addressing the state of the constituency, Caesar emphasized that neglect cuts across all communities within the federal constituency.

“All communities are neglected. This is why I am here; to correct the failures of the current administration and restore effective governance,” he stated.

He further positioned his ambition as a collective movement rather than partisan politics.

“This is not just a campaign; it is a movement. I am calling on members of ADC, APC, Labour Party, and others to support this cause. Don’t support me because of the party; support me because of the vision. This is about fixing our future together.”

Engineer MacGinger Ibeneme, in his remarks, aligned Caesar’s ambition with broader political movements, referencing support for Peter Obi and like-minded candidates.

He questioned the impact of past leadership, citing ongoing issues such as poor road conditions, armed robbery, and kidnapping as indicators of governance gaps.

Ibeneme also described Caesar as financially independent and motivated by service rather than personal gain.

“Caesar is not seeking office for money; he is already blessed. My prayer is that he leads with strength and purpose,” he said.

Similarly, Mr. Chika Obigbo expressed confidence in the ADC as a viable platform for future electoral success, particularly in alignment with national political aspirations.

In his closing remarks, Caesar reiterated his commitment to service and reform.

“It is not well with all of us. The current leadership is not delivering, and I have come to repair what is broken, for both the youth and the elders. I am not here to rule; I am here to fix things. This is for all of us,” he stated.

An attendee, Esther Edeh Ozioma, shared a personal account highlighting Caesar’s character and compassion.

“One remarkable quality about Caesar is his willingness to help others. I am a beneficiary; he paid my hospital bills without knowing me and continued supporting my treatment. He genuinely cares about people, and I believe he will perform well in office,” she said.

Caesar’s declaration signals the early formation of a grassroots-driven campaign ahead of the 2027 elections, with a strong emphasis on accountability, inclusiveness, and community development. His call for cross-party support underscores a strategic positioning aimed at broad-based engagement beyond traditional political affiliations.
