A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Showunmi, has stated that the 2027 election is between President Bola Tinubu and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.
Showunmi stated this on Thursday during an interview on News Central Television.
He argued that presidential aspirant Peter Obi has nothing to offer the country, saying he has never heard him speak about how he plans to combat the security situation if elected president.
He said, “In terms of who can lead the country, it is between Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, and one will obviously beat the other. The 2027 presidential contest is shaping up mainly between Tinubu and Atiku.
“I am cleverly and carefully listening to the candidates, and I am eagerly awaiting solutions. I can dash Atiku some headroom because, don’t forget, I was his spokesperson two times back to back. So there are things I know that reside in his brain and his heart that he has not even told people or the people that are around him.
“I know that I have followed the country journey from 2019, looking at what we are trying to do and what we are trying to beat, and some of the quiet restructuring and recalibration of the country.
“In the case of Peter Obi, I see absolutely zero. Let me repeat, I see absolutely nothing. I’ve never heard him on security. I’ve not even heard him say anything on social stabilization of the country.”
