2027: Oborevwori directs minor cabinet reshuffle as commissioners resign

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta on Friday directed minor reshuffle of his cabinet as commissioners resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor’s directive is contained in a statement by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu in Asaba.
Accordingly, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, is to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.

“The Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, is to supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.”

Aniagwu, said the development became necessary following resignation of the former commissioner for humanitarian affairs, community support services and girl child development, Ms Orode Uduaghan and commissioner for youth development, Mr ThankGod Trakiriowei.

“They resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections. The former commissioners stepped down to contest for seats in the Delta State House of Assembly,” Aniagwu said.

He said Gov. Oborevwori appreciated the former commissioners for their patriotic services to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.

He added that the new supervisory arrangements took immediate effect, pending further announcements by the state government.
