Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu is set to undergo her first surgery next week, according to an update shared on her official Instagram handle.
The statement expressed appreciation to Nigerians, fans and well-wishers for their support since news of the actress’ health challenge became public.
“We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support, prayers, donations, calls, messages, and kind words received so far. Your generosity has made a tremendous difference,” the statement read.
The update disclosed that the actress’ condition had improved and that she was being prepared for surgery.

“We are pleased to share that Ngozi Nwosu is doing well and is currently being prepared for her first surgery, scheduled for sometime next week,” the statement said.
Despite the progress, the family appealed for continued prayers and financial assistance to support her treatment.
“While we have made meaningful progress, we still need your continued support. Please keep her in your prayers, continue to share her story, and, if you are able, support her financially,” the statement added.
The veteran actress had earlier in a video appealed for financial assistance as she battles a serious undisclosed illness.
The actress, fondly remembered for her role in ‘Fuji House of Commotion’, appeared frail in the video, which was widely shared on social media on Thursday.
Lying on a hospital bed and covered with a blanket, Nwosu looked directly into the camera as she appealed to fans, family and well-wishers not to abandon her in her time of need.
She said, “My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalised now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die.”
The veteran actress, who previously battled kidney and heart-related ailments that required treatment abroad with support from the Lagos State Government and generous Nigerians, disclosed that she needs three life-saving surgeries estimated to cost about N30m.
