Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) chieftain, Buba Galadima, has described the Supreme Court judgment on the leadership tussle in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a booby trap for everybody within the opposition coalition.
NewsWatch Nigeria reports that Galadima made this statement on Monday in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
According to Galadima, political heavyweights defected from ADC to NDC due to court cases and internal divisions.
He further appealed to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and other comrades in the ADC to join the NDC to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election.
Galadima said, “We didn’t leave the ADC until there was a judgment setting a booby trap for everybody within the ADC.
“This is why we are using this opportunity to call on the remnants of our comrades in the ADC to come to the NDC, where we will have a level playing ground.
“We are particularly calling on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to jump ship and come to the NDC so that there will be a level playing ground for everybody.”
Galadima’s appeal comes a day after former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso, joined the NDC.
