ADC youths protest at INEC office in Taraba, demand recognition of Mark, Aregbesola

The Youth Wing of the Taraba State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Thursday staged a peaceful protest at the state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Jalingo.

Led by Comrade Maheer Marwana, the protesters gathered to demand leadership changes within the party and called for the immediate resignation or removal of the ADC National Chairman.

They also urged INEC’s national leadership to formally recognise David Mark as chairman and Rauf Aregbesola as the party’s national secretary.

The protesters, who conducted themselves peacefully, vowed not to relent until their demands are addressed by the relevant authorities.

The organisers said the protest underscores their continued push for transparency, justice, and internal party reforms.

Addressing the protesters, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mukhtar Umar Gajiram, assured them that their concerns and demands would be communicated to the appropriate authorities for further consideration.
