The Oyo State Government on Monday, June 8, 2026, demolished the building where the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons were held captive by kidnappers.
The demolition followed a police operation at the kidnappers’ hideout located at Lakoun, along the Ayegun-Olojuoro road in Ibadan.
The Oyo State Police Commissioner had personally led journalists to the scene of the crime.
In a post made on X, the Oyo Affairs said, “The Oyo State Government has demolished kidnappers’ den at Lakoun, Ayegun-Olojuoro road, Ibadan, where the sister of former Minister Adebayo Adelabu and her children were held captive.”
Busayo Adelabu-John Paul and her sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted on the morning of Wednesday, June 3, 2026, while she was driving them to school.
They were rescued on Saturday, June 6, during a police operation at the same location.
Confirming the rescue, the Police Public Relations Officer for Oyo State Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, said the victims were safely rescued.
He also confirmed that some suspects were apprehended during the operation.
