Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday presented his Certificate of Return to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following his re-election for a second term.
Adeleke arrived at the State House at about 5:20pm and proceeded to the President’s office for a closed-door meeting.
The presentation came shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) issued the Certificate of Return to Adeleke, who secured 511,067 votes in the August 15 governorship election.
He defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
The meeting marked the first known encounter between Tinubu and Adeleke at the Presidential Villa since the governor’s re-election.
Tinubu had earlier congratulated Adeleke on his victory and urged him to unite the people of Osun State and focus on growth, stability and socio-economic development.
