Oloye Akin Alabi has been elevated to the position of Aare Onibon Olubadan of Ibadanland following a fresh round of promotions in the Olubadan chieftaincy line.
Alabi announced that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), approved his “double promotion” from Ajia Olubadan to Aare Onibon Olubadan.

The promotions followed vacancies created by the deaths of Oloye Raufu Delesolu (Ikolaba Olubadan) and Oloye Adetunji Olanihun (Asaju Olubadan) within the last two months.
The vacancies triggered the customary advancement of chiefs along the Olubadan succession line.
According to Alabi, the latest exercise enabled him to skip the rank of Bada Olubadan and move directly to Aare Onibon Olubadan.
With the latest promotions, the positions of Jagun Olubadan and Ajia Olubadan are now vacant, paving the way for further appointments in accordance with the traditional succession system.
