The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the results for candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Friday and Saturday will be officially released within three hours.
This follows the successful conclusion of the first few days of the national examination, which serves as the primary gateway to tertiary education in Nigeria.
The Board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement on X Sunday, noting that the results for these specific batches would be available to candidates within a three-hour window.
He tweet around 5:30pm, urging the thousands of expectant students to be “prepared emotionally and mentally” before accessing their scores.
This announcement marks the second major release of the 2026 cycle. The examination officially commenced nationwide on Thursday, April 16, with the results for that opening day already processed and released to candidates on Saturday.
The upcoming release represents the second and third batches of the examination, covering those who sat for the computer-based tests on April 17 and 18.
Benjamin noted that the Board is maintaining its commitment to a fast and transparent result-processing system.
He further disclosed that the technical team had worked through the weekend to ensure that the scores were verified against the Board’s security protocols to maintain the integrity of the exercise.
The spokesperson added that candidates who sat for the examination after Saturday would have their results released in subsequent batches as the examination continues across the federation.
To check their results, candidates have been instructed to follow the established procedures by sending ‘RESULT’ to the Board’s dedicated short codes, 55019 or 66019, using the phone numbers they used during the registration process.
Benjamin emphasized that this remains the most reliable method for instant access, though the results will also be uploaded to the candidates’ individual profiles on the JAMB e-facility portal in due course.
Background reports indicate that over 1.9 million candidates registered for the 2026 UTME, which is being held in over 700 certified Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Board has also reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice, noting that any candidate found to have bypassed the biometric verification process or engaged in misconduct will have their results permanently withheld.
