The All Progressives Congress has dismissed as fake a purported list of its senatorial candidates currently circulating on social media and other online platforms.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged members, stakeholders and the general public to disregard the publication.
According to the APC, the list did not originate from the party and does not represent any official position regarding its candidates for future elections.
The party stressed that only its National Working Committee, through duly authorised communication channels, has the power to announce candidates emerging from its primary elections and other constitutionally recognised processes.
“The APC wishes to state that the said list is fake and did not emanate from the party,” the statement said.
The ruling party also cautioned members against circulating unverified information capable of causing confusion, misleading the public and undermining its internal democratic processes.
The APC reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and due process in the conduct of its affairs and advised the public to rely only on official party communications for authentic information.
