According to report by Vanguard on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a purported list of successful candidates from its recently concluded party primaries, describing the document circulating online as fake and not approved by the party.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, clarified that the party had not released any official list of candidates who emerged victorious during the primaries.
He stressed that any publication claiming to contain the final outcome of the exercise should be ignored by party members, aspirants, stakeholders and the general public.
Morka explained that the APC remains committed to following its established procedures before announcing successful candidates.
According to him, those who won the primaries will be formally contacted through the party’s official communication channels, after which certificates of return will be presented to them.
He urged Nigerians to rely solely on verified information issued by the APC, warning that unofficial publications were capable of creating confusion and spreading false information about the party’s nomination process.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has already opened its portal for political parties to upload the names of candidates nominated for the 2027 general elections.
Despite this development, the APC maintained that its authentic list had not yet been made public.
However, sources within the party disclosed that internal collation and verification of primary election results are still ongoing ahead of the official announcement.
According to the sources, the leadership considered it necessary to distance itself from the circulating list to prevent misinformation, reduce uncertainty among aspirants and members, and protect the integrity of the nomination process.
The party reaffirmed that only information released through its recognised official platforms should be regarded as authentic, assuring members that the final list of successful candidates will be unveiled after all verification procedures have been completed.
