APC Primary Shockwave Hits Abia as Eric Opah Crushes Rivals

The Abia State branch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its congratulations to Chief Eric Opah after he secured the party’s governorship ticket following primaries held across all 184 wards in the state on Thursday.

According to a statement released by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, Opah won by a wide margin, garnering 125,977 votes against his closest competitor, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, who received 5,905 votes.

The party praised all candidates, supporters, election officials, and stakeholders for ensuring the process was peaceful and credible, describing the outcome as a reflection of the APC’s growing cohesion in Abia State.

The APC expressed full confidence in Opah’s ability to lead the party to success in the 2027 general elections and reclaim the Government House in Umuahia for the party.

Members and supporters were also urged to remain united and focused as they work together toward bringing meaningful governance to the people of Abia State.
