Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, on Monday, participated in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election.
NewsWatch Nigeria reports that Atiku voted at the Ajiya Ward Polling Unit in Jimeta Yola, Adamawa State.
Confirming the development, Atiku shared a video of his participation in the primaries on his 𝕏 Account.
He wrote: “I joined other prospective voters of the African Democratic Congress in our party’s presidential primaries in casting my vote at the Ajiya Ward Polling Unit in Jimeta Yola, Adamawa State. This is democracy at work. The election taking place simultaneously in 8,809 Wards in Nigeria is a major step in our quest to recover our beloved country and set it on the path of prosperity.”

Meanwhile, former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has opined that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is the best choice to emerge as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) flagbearer ahead of the party’s presidential primary.
NewsWatch Nigeria reports that the ADC presidential primary is scheduled to hold today, Monday.
In a post via her 𝕏 handle, Onochie claimed that few Nigerian politicians match Atiku’s pedigree, stressing that the former presidential candidate can give ADC the strongest opportunity to win the 2027 presidential election and govern Nigeria.
Onochie emphasised that if ADC aspires to make history, its members should ensure that Atiku emerges as the party’s candidate.
