Bello El-Rufai Clinches ADC House Of Reps Ticket In Kaduna

A member of the House of Representatives, Bello El-Rufai, has been winner of the primary election of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the Kaduna north federal constituency seat.

In a statement on Saturday, Bello, the son of former governor Nasir El-Rufai, said he polled 7,727 votes during the ADC primary election for the federal constituency seat.

The federal lawmaker commended the ADC stakeholders and members for the “overwhelming show of trust and confidence” reposed in him.

“Alhamdulillah. I am deeply honoured and humbled to emerge unopposed as the flag bearer of the African Democratic Congress for Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the just concluded primary election, with a total of 7,727 votes,” El-Rufai said.

“I sincerely thank the leadership of the party, delegates, stakeholders, supporters, and the good people of Kaduna North for this overwhelming show of trust and confidence.

“I have served diligently for three years alongside my team.”

The federal lawmaker, who recently defected from All Progressives Congress to ADC, added that while in APC, he never supported or financed opposition parties.

“Let me explain this. While in the APC. I have never related to the opposition. I have never financed them. My father knew better to ask me to,” he said.

“There is still honour in politics. I hope to embody it. I am now in the ADC, proudly, let me assure you or anyone that doubts this, I will canvass for our party with pleasure and they know my record. We fear no one.”

In 2023, Bello won the Kaduna north federal constituency election on the platform of APC.
