The Bank of Agriculture (BOA) has shortlisted successful candidates for Phase 2 of the National Agricultural Mechanization Program (NAMP), a financing and equipment support initiative being implemented in partnership with Heifer Nigeria.
Applicants across different categories including Youth Entrepreneur in Mechanisation and Mechanisation Company/Agribusiness have started receiving official emails confirming that their Stage 1 screening applications were successful and reviewed.
The notification informed beneficiaries that they have been shortlisted to proceed to Phase 2, described as the due-diligence and credit-profiling stage of the programme.
According to the message sent to applicants and seen by Nigeria Startup News, all required steps on the portal must be completed before applications can be forwarded to the Credit Risk Management System (CRMS) for loan processing.
Successful applicants are instructed to upload required documents through the Phase 2 portal. Some of the listed documents include Certificate of Incorporation or Business Registration, Company or Business Profile, and Tax Clearance Certificate.
The portal also requires applicants to validate their registration details before proceeding with the onboarding process.
Some beneficiaries also confirmed receiving another approval notification from BOA stating that all sections of their applications had been reviewed and approved after successful completion of onboarding.
The approval email added that applicants could then access their accounts through the BOA business banking portal.
Further information displayed on the portal showed that applicants must meet all prerequisites before submission to the Credit Risk Management System will be allowed.
Another stage on the portal revealed that successful applicants would be required to generate a virtual account and pay an equity contribution before loan processing can continue.
According to the BOA instructions shown, applicants are expected to pay an equity contribution of 10% of the total equipment cost into the generated account, after which the portal will automatically confirm receipt of payment.
The National Agricultural Mechanization Program (NAMP) is designed to support agricultural mechanisation businesses and entrepreneurs in Nigeria through financing and equipment access initiatives facilitated by BOA and Heifer Nigeria.
