President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has spoken on the Conduct of Primary elections nationwide by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Tinubu, speaking in Lagos after participating in the Party’s Presidential Primaries currently ongoing in different states of the country, disclosed that he was happy with the way Progressives Governors conducted the exercise.

In his words: “I am very satisfied. Very very Satisfied that the Governors have done well in their Various States. From the Ward Congresses, Local Government Congresses, to the Delegate Accreditation, Validation, Members Register and Certification of the Electoral Process. It’s been going Very Well.”

“At Least, We will Score Democracy at a High Level.”

The President’s Comments are coming amidst Criticisms and Outcry from Several States over alleged poor conduct and Manipulation of Primary results by Governors. In Oyo for example, Former Minister for Power, Adebayo Adelabu last week accused the Party of rigging the Gubernatorial Party Primaries in Favour of his Opponent, Sharafadeen Alli.

In a statement issued on Friday through his media aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, Adelabu alleged that the primary process was manipulated and dismissed reports claiming that Sharafadeen Alli secured over 500,000 votes in the exercise.

He claimed that the APC’s total registered membership in Oyo State stands at 153,640, a figure he says falls far below the votes allegedly credited to Alli. “Those in charge of the results need to be careful and not to be used by anyone to truncate or alter the results because it is already clear to us from what we are collating from each ward,” the statement read.
