BREAKING: With Uba Sani In The Field, Victory For Our Party Is Assured In The Ekiti State Election – Fani-Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised for triumph in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election.

In a post on his X handle on Saturday, June 20, 2026, Fani-Kayode emphasized that the presence of Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, on the ground provides a significant boost to the party’s prospects of winning the election.

He wrote, “With @ubasanius in the field victory for our great party is assured in the Ekiti state Governorship election today. To God be the glory.”

Governor Sani currently leads the APC’s National Campaign Council for the election, a strategic appointment aimed at galvanizing party support across the state.

In his capacity as Chairman, he has been instrumental in coordinating field operations across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti.

This contest holds particular historical significance, as it marks the first sub-national election to be held following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signing of the Electoral Act 2026 into law.

While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared 14 candidates to participate in today’s exercise, the contest features a diverse array of hopefuls.

Among those seeking the mandate of the people are the incumbent, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the APC, alongside other contenders such as Opeyemi Falegan of the Accord Party, Oluwadare Bejide of the African Democratic Congress, and Olumayokun Oluwole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, among others representing various political platforms.

The outcome of this election will determine the state’s leadership for the next four years and is being closely watched as a critical test for the ruling party’s influence in the Southwest.
