Brighton & Hove Albion have intensified their efforts to sign Millwall winger Femi Azeez before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
The Premier League club have already submitted two offers for the Nigeria international, with their latest proposal understood to be worth slightly more than £10 million.
Millwall, however, remain reluctant to accept the bid and value the 25-year-old considerably higher.
Brighton step up transfer pursuit
Brighton are keen to reach an agreement before the window closes at 11pm BST on Tuesday, with Azeez understood to be their preferred destination.
The winger has reportedly made his desire to move to the Amex Stadium clear as he looks to secure regular Premier League football.
Azeez’s impressive performances for Millwall last season have played a major role in attracting Brighton’s attention.
He scored 11 goals and provided seven assists during the 2025-26 campaign, earning selection in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.
His form also led to his first senior international opportunity with Nigeria.
Azeez’s Nigeria breakthrough boosts profile
Azeez made an immediate impact for the Super Eagles, scoring twice in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup.
He also featured in Nigeria’s final against Jamaica as the Super Eagles lifted the trophy.
The winger began the new club season with Millwall and played in their 2-0 opening-day win over Bristol City, despite the ongoing transfer speculation.
Azeez joined Millwall from Reading in August 2024 for around £1 million and still has two years remaining on his current contract.
Hull City have previously expressed interest in the player, but Brighton have now emerged as the strongest suitor.
The Seagulls are seeking to strengthen their squad before the deadline and remain hopeful that negotiations with Millwall can produce an agreement.
If the transfer is completed, Azeez would become Brighton’s second Nigerian signing of the summer after Zadok Yohann.
