New evidence has emerged in the investigation into the fatal drive-by shooting that claimed the life of 21-year-old TikTok influencer Brianna Johnson, popularly known online as DreamDoll Bri or ItGirlBri.
Authorities have released chilling 911 calls and surveillance footage that are helping detectives piece together the events leading to the deadly attack in Miramar, Florida. Watch video here
Brianna, who had built a strong following of more than 500,000 people across TikTok and Instagram, was inside a lime green Lamborghini Urus when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle in the early hours of Sunday, July 5.
According to police, a white BMW sedan pulled alongside the Lamborghini at an intersection before the occupants fired more than a dozen shots. The driver lost control of the SUV, which crashed into a nearby house.
Emergency calls made moments after the shooting captured frightened witnesses desperately asking dispatchers to send help. One caller reported that a vehicle had crashed into a home, while another repeatedly pleaded for an ambulance as chaos unfolded.
Investigators believe the attack was targeted. Surveillance footage shows the white BMW following the Lamborghini before the shooting.
Earlier that morning, the group had attended a party at an Airbnb and later stopped at a Shell petrol station, where CCTV cameras recorded a fight involving several women.
Detectives are examining that footage to establish whether the altercation was connected to the shooting.
The tragedy has claimed two lives. Brianna died shortly after the attack, while her cousin, Arthur Lee Johnson III, who had been critically injured, succumbed to his wounds on July 8.
A third passenger survived despite suffering a gunshot wound to the face and has since been discharged from hospital.
Miramar Police say no arrests have been made, and investigators have not yet identified a motive. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact police or Broward County Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues.
