Como’s coach Cesc Fabregas Has been named Serie A Coach of the Year at the Gran Gala del Calcio on Wednesday, while Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco was recognised as the league’s Best Player.
According to L’Équipe, the ceremony is the Italian equivalent of the UNFP Awards in France, with the event honouring the outstanding performers from the previous Serie A season.
Fabregas, a 2010 World Cup winner with Spain, retired from professional football in 2023 before immediately beginning his coaching career with Como, who were then competing in Serie B.
After guiding the Lombardy-based club to promotion to Serie A and subsequently helping them comfortably avoid relegation, Fabregas led Como to fourth place last season, securing the club’s first-ever qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

Como also claimed an individual award through Argentine attacking midfielder Nico Paz, who was named Best Young Player after an impressive campaign in which he recorded 12 goals and six assists.
Dimarco, meanwhile, was recognised for a standout season with Inter, contributing seven goals and 18 assists from his wing-back position.
The Serie A Team of the Season also featured several of the league’s biggest names.
